Cartridge filters, on the other hand, use a pleated design to increase the filter surface area and enhance dust collection efficiency. They are typically made of a combination of spun-bond polyester or other synthetic materials. The dust particles are collected on the surface or within the pleats of the cartridges, which can be cleaned intermittently or replaced when they become overloaded with dust.


Cyclone separators work based on the principle of centrifugal force. They are used as a pre-filtering stage to remove larger dust particles from the airstream before entering the main filtration stage. The dust-laden air enters the cyclone separator tangentially, creating a spinning motion. Due to centrifugal force, the heavier particles are forced to the outer wall of the cyclone and then drop into a collection bin, while the clean air exits through the top.


4. Collection and Disposal: The collected dust needs to be properly handled and disposed of to prevent reintroduction into the environment. Depending on the characteristics of the dust, it may be collected in bags, drums, or hoppers and then transported for appropriate disposal, such as landfilling or recycling.


In addition to these stages, industrial dust collectors often incorporate additional features for enhanced performance and safety. These may include explosion protection systems, such as spark detection and suppression, to prevent and mitigate the risk of explosion in dust collectors handling combustible dust.
